MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SUPPLIES
2033A UPS
Mitsubishi Electric has been a leader in developing and manufacturing Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) components and systems for over thirty years. This extensive experience, combined with the ongoing integration of advanced power-device technologies, has solidified Mitsubishi Electric’s prominent position in the global UPS market.
Dependability is a critical factor when selecting a UPS system, and Mitsubishi Electric’s Uninterruptible Power Supply systems are a trusted choice for many.
Intelligent Power Module (IPM) Transistors for Enhanced Performance
Mitsubishi Electric, a leading manufacturer of Intelligent Power Modules (IPMs), incorporates these high-performance transistors into the converters and inverters of its 2033A Series UPS systems. These advanced IPMs offer several intelligent features, including:
- Integrated Drive Circuitry
- Overcurrent Protection
- Over Temperature Protection
- Control Voltage Drop Protection
- Short-Circuit Protection
Low Input Current Harmonics (THD)
- 3% typical at 100% load
- 4% typical at 75% load
- 6% typical at 50% load (no additional filtering required)
Generator Sizing Ratio (UPS)
- 1:1 ratio (UPS kVA/Generator kW)
Reduced Heat Loss and High Efficiency
The utilization of Intelligent Power Module transistors facilitates efficient, high-speed switching, which minimizes heat dissipation within the UPS. This increased efficiency translates to lower operational costs per kilowatt for the customer.

UPS MONITORING EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE
Netcom2 for Network Management Systems
The Netcom2 is compatible with major Network Management Systems (NMS) over Ethernet, including HP OpenView, Novell ManageWise, Sun NetManager, and IBM NetView. This hardware SNMP/Web adapter features an embedded SNMP software agent, designed for the demanding task of managing UPS systems that protect critical equipment and data.
Netcom2 Features:
- Remote UPS Status Monitoring: Monitor a remote UPS via an RS-232 cable to the Netcom2, transmitting data to a remote workstation (NMS) through an Ethernet connection.
- Web Card: Assign an IP address to your UPS for remote monitoring from any location globally.
- SNMP Adapter: Converts the UPS protocol into an SNMP software agent, enabling SNMP traps.
- SNMP Viewer: A unique Mitsubishi design that visually categorizes SNMP messages, informing the NMS of all current UPS alarms.
- Send Shutdown Signal to Networked Servers: Transmit a shutdown signal to Ethernet-connected servers.
- Battery and Service Monitoring: Track UPS battery life and service information.
- E-mail Notifications: Send email alerts to the administrator upon event occurrence.
ModBus Communications for Building Management Systems
The MUCM card allows for the integration of Mitsubishi Electric UPS systems into existing Building Management Solutions. This user-programmable protocol converter or data concentrator is DIN-rail mountable and includes two serial ports (one RS-232, one RS-485) and over 2,048 internal mailbox registers. Through the ModBus protocol converter, UPS variables can be monitored using various Building Management System vendor software.
Extended Battery Life
- The integration of Intelligent Power Module transistors in both the converter and inverter eliminates the need for batteries to supply current for step loads. Previously, batteries were required to assist the converter when it couldn’t meet current demands, leading to reduced battery lifespan.
- Mitsubishi Electric’s Intelligent Power Modules utilize the latest technologies to support step load applications (0-100%) without battery assistance, thereby maximizing battery service life and lowering the total cost of ownership.
Internal Maintenance Bypass
All 2033A Series UPS systems are equipped with an internal wrap-around maintenance bypass system, enhancing maintenance flexibility. This system is UL 1778 approved.
Superior Control
The 2033A Series UPS systems employ pulse width modulation (PWM) for superior control and performance. A digital signal processor (DSP) ensures precise management of all input and output parameters.
