QPS Welcomes Mark Wellnitz!

QPS welcomes Mark Wellnitz as our new Director of Business Development! Mark joined our team in December 2017. Mark comes to us with a 25-year background working in sales, marketing and operations for companies such as Land’s End, Spectrum Communications and Wind River Financial.

Mark grew up in Iowa, and has lived in Madison since 1999. He is an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan, but we won’t hold that against him! Today, Mark lives in Waunakee with his wife and his 2 children, ages 16 and 14. Mark has many interests, including basketball and travel. He previously lived in Amsterdam for 2 years, and went on a recent trip with his daughter to South Africa for volunteer work.

One of the most valuable things Mark has learned in his career is that people make all the difference. “Working with committed, highly engaged colleagues towards a common goal is the recipe for success. It is also a lot of fun,” he says. The idea of “the critical few” is also important to him, meaning the most successful teams and companies are able to focus on the initiatives most impactful to the business. “There is never a shortage of things to do,” shares Mark. “The question is…are we spending our time on the right things?”

When asked what he is most looking forward to at QPS, Mark says that he is excited to join a business with such a strong customer and employee focus. “It is a real joy to work with this team. They are committed to the business, our customers and each other.”
